How I Helped a Financial Advising Firm Get Clients for Life
When I started Geared Up Youth, I had one mission: empower the next generation with the life skills that schools often don’t teach — money management, career readiness, communication, and confidence. But what I’ve learned is that this mission doesn’t just benefit teens. It creates lasting value for entire families — and even the companies we partner with.
Recently, I had the opportunity to collaborate with Redeem Wealth, a financial advising firm out of Gilbert, Arizona that shares our passion for financial literacy and raising up the next generation. What started as a teen workshop turned into a relationship-building masterclass — not just for students, but for their parents too.
Here’s what happened:
We Made Finance Relatable — and Fun
Instead of dry slides or overwhelming jargon, we turned financial concepts into interactive games, real-life scenarios, and honest conversations. We didn’t just present—we engaged. And guess what? The teens reciprocated. They asked thoughtful questions. They laughed. They learned.
And parents took notice. They saw their kids light up learning about compound interest and credit scores — things that even adults sometimes avoid. That energy created a bridge of trust that extended naturally from students to their families.
We Built Intergenerational Trust
When you help a teenager understand what a Roth IRA is — or how credit works — you’re not just educating. You’re building trust. Parents who saw their teens learning valuable lessons began asking questions of their own:
“Can you help my child open a savings account?”
“Do you work with families too?”
“When is the next workshop?”
Suddenly, Redeem Wealth wasn’t just a sponsor — they were a trusted resource.
The Power of Being First
Most people don’t remember the first financial firm they saw in adulthood — but these teens? They will. For many of them, Redeem Wealth is now the first financial company they’ve ever heard of.
And in a world where trust in financial institutions is hard-won, that’s a game-changer.
When a young person grows up and starts thinking about investing, getting advice, or managing their money — who do you think they’ll look for? Probably the name that supported them before anyone else did.
Being first isn’t just about timing. It’s about trust.
And trust, when earned early, turns into loyalty that lasts a lifetime.
The Takeaway: Serve First, Sell Later
The most powerful client relationships start with service. Through our collaboration, Redeem Wealth didn’t have to pitch their services — they proved their value by showing up, giving generously, and investing in the next generation.
That’s the kind of marketing you can’t fake. And that’s how you get clients for life.
